Kacy obtained both her Juris Doctor and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and was awarded Distinguished Scholarship for her PCLL. Kacy qualified as a Solicitor in Hong Kong in October 2017 and she is also a qualified accountant.
She received extensive training in contentious matters and is experienced in handling various types of onshore and offshore litigation cases (including partnership disputes, shareholder and director disputes, fraud, winding up, employment and probate etc.) and interlocutory and enforcement applications (subpoena application, stay of execution application and oral examination hearings etc.). In view of her accounting background, Kacy frequently assumed the important role of handling financial documents and forensic related matters.
Prior to embarking her career in law, Kacy obtained a BBA in Accounting and Finance and was awarded Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards (Bronze in Year 2 and Gold in Year 3) and Dean’s List Awards (two academic years) in her first degree. She worked as an accountant in the Tax department at one of the Big Four accounting firms and at one of the largest banks in Hong Kong.
Kacy is experienced in advising or representing domestic and international individuals and corporations (private or listed) and cooperated with lawyers in different jurisdictions; high-net-worth individual in defending a BVI case involving London Counsel and offshore firms; and Clients in Tax and Fund issues.
Kacy is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Tax Dispute Experience
- Represented senior executives in lodging objections to estimated assessments and mitigating in criminal prosecutions.
- Advising a multinational company in its merit of the offshore claim and negotiating with the IRD for withholding entering into judgment against client.
