Peter Cashin is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and Australia. He has led the corporate insurance practice of an international law firm and held the positions of Chief Administration Officer of an international private medical organisation and General Counsel and Regional Counsel of leading life, general and medical insurance organisations.
Peter’s experience spans financial technologies, acquisitions, divestments, reorganisations, strategic alliances including bancassurance, regulatory matters including competition, licensing, risk and compliance program design and implementation, governance design and planning, and product and distribution issues.
Peter has written and lectured widely on risk, insurance and related matters. He lectures in the Masters of Laws program at the Hong Kong University on finance and medical related legal subjects.
Peter has been a member of the Risk Management Advisory Committee of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, a member of the life insurance working group of the Financial Services Development Council of Hong Kong, a member of the Hong Kong Law Society Insurance Law Committee, an insurance industry advisor and a member of the General Insurance Council in Hong Kong.
Peter led a working group of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) and was the founding President of the Hong Kong Insurance Law Association. He was also a representative of the HKFI on the Committee on Hong Kong Arbitration Law. Peter holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from QUT.
