Prior to developing her legal career, Karen worked in both the Hong Kong and the New Zealand offices of one of the 'Big Four' accounting firms and has gained extensive tax advisory experiences including advising on optimal tax structures for multinational corporations, individual tax compliance obligations, as well as advising on the implications on the relevant tax treaties. She also has extensive experiences in dealing with the tax authorities, including assisting clients to handle inquiries raised by the tax authorities and maintain proper records to minimise the risks that clients would be challenged by the tax authorities.
Karen obtained her Bachelor of Laws and Commerce degrees from the University of Auckland. She is also a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.
She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
